The schools and
classrooms are rarely renovated, not realizing the impact it can have in
improving a students’ performance. Most of the people have a firm belief in only what matters in a classroom is what is
been taught in it. However, designs of schools and classrooms have a major
influence on learning of the students ensuring remarkable improvements in students’
scores.

The commonly
followed trend of keeping a clean environment for the students is not the only
requirement. The mainstream design of converging all the focus on the just single entity of the teacher being placed
in the front of the class can be replaced
by shifting the focus on the learners instead. When the space provided for
designing a classroom is utilized well in a way that students are not stuffed
into each other, the students will keep their sense of individuality alive. And
that they are being watched closely, as they are the center of focus.
Instead of
bounding the students to the ringing of bells, teachers and owner of the
schools should adopt the creative approach themselves first, before expecting
it to be inculcated in the students. They should be allowed to move freely as
per their will, then observe and guide them accordingly. Instead of taming them
in one same way.
A student with an
empty and gurgling stomach can never pay attention to the lecture. So, pupils
should be provided with a café near their classrooms.
Adopting new ways
of building confidence can help
contribute to the society, it does not just stay within the boundaries of
schools. For example, if students are encouraged to make things according to
their talents, let’s say some artworks, and then get them on display before the
whole school. Moreover, pay the students with the reward money. This can have an unimaginable
positive impact on the students’ personalities and mindsets.
Students acquire
the knowledge from their parents and family, then the teachers and the peers,
and then from the environment around them. This implies that environment has a
role in the pupils’ learning and growth. Hence, it is not just the teacher
performance that needs to be improved and enhanced but also the design does
matter. Thus, measures should be taken by the educational institutes to improve
the environment provided to the students within the walls of the school
building.
